Snow!!!

Well I promised Alex I would take him outside to play in the snow so the day I decide to take him it was colder than heck outside. I wanted to build a snowman but the snow wasn't snowman material if you know what I mean. So instead we ran around and made snow angels and just walked in it. So a few days later he asked if we could go outside and play in the snow so I said sure because it wasn't that cold out. By this time I went out and bought a sled for him, So I decide to truck it up to the big hill in the corn field. Big mistake of course not thinking that he is going to walk slower because of all his snow gear on it was to cute. We had fun and sled down the hill a few times and came inside. I told Jeff that If I was going to be the one sledding with the boys then I'm going out and buying a new coat and some snow pants. I have yet to do it but I'm going to because double up on pants isn't cutting it.

Bradley Karl Weir

How time flies!! I can't believe our baby is 1. It seems like yesterday I just had him. He has been such a great addition to our family and we love him dearly. We had a birthday party for him on the 9th of January and it went great. We had a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed party which he loved especially seeing the big Mickey Mouse balloon. He dug right into his cake which Jeff and I talked about it that morning how he would just go to town, and sure enough he did. At first he didn't realize what it was until he put his hand in his mouth and realized that it was good stuff. I decided to buy a hideway play hut for his birthday and I found a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse at that and I figured I could get a good use out of it with both of the boys and I didn't realize how big it was until we unfolded it and I almost took out our new 50" screen tv. Jeff said "Holy crap who bought that for him" and I said " We will discuss that later" it was huge all I could do was laugh because it was funny. Oh well I thought we will get plenty of use especially since it is big and we can take it out side. The party was hit and everybody had a geat time.

Busy...Busy...Busy...

I'm either busy one week or sitting on my butt wondering what I should be doing!!! Over the weekend we had Cooper's birthday party (nephew) which the boys had a lot of fun at. And not to mention our book club meeting at the hunt club!!! We decided on a new book called The Perfect Christmas by Debbie Macomber which sounds really good so I'm excited to get started on that. Oh I forgot to mention that the boys and I are going to Sault Ste. Marie to visit my brother and his family for the weekend, we are leaving on Thursday morning and coming home on Sunday so I'm very excited it has been 2 years since I have gone up there to visit. It should be intersting on how both the boys will do traveling on such a long journey I might need to take a fifth of something before it is over.

Pumpkin Painting!

Well I decided when I took the kids to go get pumpkins this year I would buy little ones for Alex to paint to keep him busy after his surgery. What do you know it was a hit! Alex loved painting the pumpkins his smile was priceless. I bought a container to put the paints in and when the colors would get low he would say "Momma more blue pease" or whatever other color happened to be low at the time. It was something nice for mommy and Alex time.

Halloween!

I'm not a very good blogger as you can tell it has been about a week since I have blogged anything. Anyway.... Halloween was fun as usual but instead of having one trick-or-treater we had two. Alex was a Lion and Bradley was a baby cow and I must say they were very adorable. The cutest trick-or-treaters on the block. It was an exhausting night even though we didn't actually do door to door trick-or-treating. We just went to people we knew and by all means the boys came home with a mountain full of goodies. I just feel it is a little bit harder with two than one just because we got out of the car 7 times. But in the end it was worth it and all the pics that we took made it all worth while.

TGIF!!

Obviously it has been one of those weeks if it isn't one thing it is another. Here it goes.

Tuesday: Alex was feeling ok, he was drinking and eating. But by the time Tuesday evening rolled around the pain was sinking in and Jeff and I were worried that he wasn't getting enough fluids. And we didn't want to end up on the pediatric unit for fluids. So we decided to ship him off to bed and sleep it off and we would start fresh in the morning and re-evaluate.

Wednesday: Alex is still in pain so we ended up calling the Dr. and just giving him an update because we were still worried about his fluid intake. It was the weirdest thing by lunch time Alex had done a 360 and was eating and drinking and actually taking down his meds. What a relief. This whole process has been mentally and physically draining on me let alone Alex. Jeff also made the comment on how we should've waited until he was ten to do the tonsilectomy.

Thursday: I think we have turned a new corner Alex happens to be talking more but for some reason he doesn't want to talk to Jeff. Who knows! After I had put Bradley down for a nap we decided to go for a walk around the farm with Grandma Weir. It was nice to get some fresh air.

Friday: Today is TGIF and we are making even more progress. He is becoming the old Alex without tonsils. Running out and asking for snacks giving me weird faces oh and don't forget being mean to his little brother. What more could we ask for.
