TGIF!!

Obviously it has been one of those weeks if it isn't one thing it is another. Here it goes.

Tuesday: Alex was feeling ok, he was drinking and eating. But by the time Tuesday evening rolled around the pain was sinking in and Jeff and I were worried that he wasn't getting enough fluids. And we didn't want to end up on the pediatric unit for fluids. So we decided to ship him off to bed and sleep it off and we would start fresh in the morning and re-evaluate.

Wednesday: Alex is still in pain so we ended up calling the Dr. and just giving him an update because we were still worried about his fluid intake. It was the weirdest thing by lunch time Alex had done a 360 and was eating and drinking and actually taking down his meds. What a relief. This whole process has been mentally and physically draining on me let alone Alex. Jeff also made the comment on how we should've waited until he was ten to do the tonsilectomy.

Thursday: I think we have turned a new corner Alex happens to be talking more but for some reason he doesn't want to talk to Jeff. Who knows! After I had put Bradley down for a nap we decided to go for a walk around the farm with Grandma Weir. It was nice to get some fresh air.

Friday: Today is TGIF and we are making even more progress. He is becoming the old Alex without tonsils. Running out and asking for snacks giving me weird faces oh and don't forget being mean to his little brother. What more could we ask for.

Alex's surgery!

We made it thru the day! Thank the Lord that we did make it thru! Here it goes, Last night I kept Alex up until 11:30 thinking that he would sleep in (uh NO) that didn't happen he woke up at a quarter to 7am this morning. So he was ok until I started to make Bradley a bottle and he wanted cereal so Jeff says "ok we are out of here" takes Alex and off they go because Alex can't eat or drink anything until after his surgery. Alex had a great time with daddy and daddy helped mommy out big time, so we get to Alegiance Surgery Center and get checked in and they call us back and they go over a few things with us and as we are sitting there Jeff heres the nurse say that he is going to be 45mins late oh that is just great so time goes by and Alex is being such a great sport about all of this and an hour and ten minutes later the Dr. shows up and says there is a slight problem! (Oh SHIT!!!) The Dr. proceds to tell us that the Anesthesiologist's dad is up at Sparrow hospital coding because he is dying of lung cancer and she has to leave to go be with her dad. Which is understandable so our Dr. tells us that they are in the process of having another Anesthesiologist come from the main hospital to do the rest of the surgeries and if one isn't available that we have to reschedule! And if any of you know my husband he is fit to be tied at this point because we tried to reschedule once and they were going to charge us $50 for canceling the appt. So Jeff was going to ask them if we had to reschedule could we charge $50 because it wasn't a 24hr notice. Well fortunatly for them we didn't have to reschedule and they went on there way with the procedure. So needless to say we are home safe and healthy and counting our blessings that nothing worse happened and that our Alex is such a great sport! We love him so much!

What a weekend!

I can't believe it is Sunday night already! My how time flies when you are having fun! This weekend was busy for us we had the Hanover -Horton homecoming and my husband's cousin was on homecoming court! It was a cold one. I had the pleasure of going by myself and leaving the kids with my father-in-law and the hubby. Saturday I had a baby shower to go to which was really nice and today I ran into town to finish getting things for Alex because I have no clue what he is going to want to eat after surgery and I also grabbed things at Michaels for him to paint his little pumpkins and to finger paint to keep him busy this fall and winter when it is to cold to go outside and play. We also went to a hot dog roast and it was a beautiful day for it and the kids had a blast.

Well, it happened to be one of those busy days again! The boys and I went out to lunch with Liz and then we ran some errands and eventually made it to Meijer for some grocery shopping. Again I hate meijer but I like the coupons that spit out when you are checking out. The next two days will be nice because we aren't doing anything other than cleaning! That is (me) who is doing the cleaning. This weekend is going to be busy so stay tuned for some pictures as I'm still trying to figure out this blogging stuff!
